How does the F1 points system work?

Points for race and sprint results plus fastest lap rules explained.

The top ten finishers in a Grand Prix score points, from 25 for a win down to 1 for tenth place.

An extra point is awarded for the fastest lap if the driver finishes in the top ten.

Sprint races award a smaller points scale to the top eight finishers.

Constructor standings combine both drivers' points for each team.
